The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) recently announced the results of their Fall 2020 Project Grant competition, and the network is thrilled to announce that four CanVECTOR-led thrombosis studies were awarded project funding in this competition for a total of $2.78 million (CAD).

Fall 2020 Research Fellowship Competition Awards Announced

CanVECTOR has awarded two trainees with Research Fellowship Awards in the Fall 2020 Research Training Awards competition. A total of $90,000 (CAD) in funding was granted in this competition to support research training in venous thromboembolism (VTE) at Canadian centres.

Fall 2020 Research Start-up Competition Awards Announced

CanVECTOR has awarded six trainees with Research Start-up Awards in the Fall 2020 Research Start-up Awards competition. Competition winners were awarded up to $2,500 for VTE-related research projects for a total of $13,450 in competition funding.

CanVECTOR COVID-19 VTE-Related Rapid Response Funding Competition Results Announced

MONTREAL, September 16, 2020 – In July 2020 CanVECTOR launched a special call for proposals to support research projects to enable network scientists to collect data to improve the understanding of COVID-19 in relation to venous thromboembolism (VTE) risk, diagnosis, prevention, management, and pathogenesis. The competition was launched in response to the urgent need to better understand the pathobiology and clinical implications of the viral infection that leads to the thrombosis-related morbidity and mortality seen with COVID-19.
