CanVECTOR has awarded two new Research Training Awards for the 2019 (Spring) Research Training Award Competition. Dr. Keerat Grewal (University of Toronto) has been awarded the 2019 (Sping) Fellowship Award. Amy Wong Strilchuk (University of British Columbia) has been awarded the 2019 (Spring) Studentship Award.
2019 (Spring) Research Training Awards
Dr. Keerat Grewal (University of Toronto) has been awarded the 2019 (Spring) Fellowship Award for the project titled "Venous thromboembolism in patients discharged from the emergency department with ankle fractures requiring lower limb immobilization: A population-based study." The project is supervised by Dr. Kerstin de Wit (McMaster University) and Dr. Bjug Borgundvaag (University of Toronto).
Amy Wong Strilchuk (University of British Columbia) has been awarded the 2019 (Spring) Studentship Award for the project titled "Modulating Fibrinolysis using siRNA against Coagulation Factor XIII." The project is supervised by Dr. Christian Kastrup (University of British Columbia)
About the CanVECTOR Research Training Awards: The purpose of the CanVECTOR Research Training Awards is to provide financial support for highly qualified, promising trainees or fellows to allow them to pursue research training in thromboembolism at a Canadian centre. The area of training must:
- Align with CanVECTOR priorities
- Be research focused
- Be supervised by a CanVECTOR member.
