Dr. Siraj Mithoowani graduated from medical school, and completed Internal Medicine and Hematology residency at McMaster University. He then completed a CanVECTOR-supported clinical and research fellowship in Benign Hematology and Thromboembolism at McMaster and concurrently completed a Masters degree in Health Professions Education program at Maastricht University, Netherlands.
Dr. Mithoowani is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine, McMaster University and works as a clinical hematologist at St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton where his practice is focused on non-malignant and thrombotic blood disorders. His research interests are in knowledge translation, clinical studies in venous thromboembolism, and postgraduate medical education. Dr. Mithoowani was the recipient of the Department of Medicine’s W. Watson Buchanan Clinician Educator career award in 2021.
