Laila came to Canada from Saudi Arabia with a BSc in Chemistry and a MSc in Physical Chemistry, then obtained a PhD in respiratory pathology and completed a post-doc in neuroscience at McGill. Subsequently, she started a business as a Leadership coach, during which she became an adjunct faculty and a leadership instructor at Ashesi University in Ghana. This international and entrepreneurial experience resulted in several national and international clienteles, workshops and invited lectures, enhancing her networking, management and communication skills. In 2022, she returned to the scientific research scene, first as a research associate in Cancer research, then as an Interim Operations Manager at the Center of Outcomes Research and Evaluation (CORE) at the Research Institute of the McGill University Health Center (RIMUHC).
Bringing her diverse experiences and skills, Laila has joined us in the position of CanVECTOR Network Operations Manager and is looking forward to learning from everyone as well as contributing to the success of our network’s endeavors.
