CanVECTOR Announces Newly Elected Scientific Steering Committee Members

MONTREAL, QC, February 13, 2025 – Following a robust election process, we are excited to announce the results of our recent elections for the CanVECTOR Scientific Steering Committee (SSC)! Representing five research sites across three provinces, the newly elected members will join the SSC for a five-year term beginning April 1, 2025.

Meet the Incoming SSC Members:

Clinical Trials & Shared Platforms:

Aurélien Delluc, MD, PhD - University of Ottawa / The Ottawa Hospital 

Aurélien will replace Deborah Siegal (incoming Co-Director) and will co-lead the platform with Leslie Skeith.


Population & Health Services Research Platform:

Camille Simard, MDCM, MSc - McGill University / Jewish General Hospital 

Keerat Grewal, MD, MSc - University of Toronto / Mount Sinai Hospital

Camille & Keerat will replace Vicky Tagalakis and Alejandro Lazo-Langner as platform Co-leads.


Patient Partners Platform:

Yan Xu, MD, MSc - University of Ottawa / The Ottawa Hospital 

Yan will replace Lisa Duffett and will co-lead the platform with Carol West


Basic / Translational Research Platform:

Maha Othman, MD, PhD - Queen's University 

Maha will replace Edward Conway and will co-lead the platform with Paul Kim.


Training, Mentoring, and Early Career Development Platform:

Amye Harrigan, MD - Dalhousie University / Nova Scotia Health, QEII Health Sciences Centre

Amye will replace Sudeep Shivakumar and will co-lead the platform with Miriam Kimpton


As we welcome our new network leaders, we also extend our deepest gratitude to outgoing leaders for their dedication and invaluable contributions to these key leadership positions.

We would like to express our sincere appreciation to Alejandro Lazo-Langner, Edward Conway, Lisa Duffett, Sudeep Shivakumar, and Vicky Tagalakis for their outstanding leadership, expertise, and unwavering commitment to CanVECTOR. Their contributions have helped shape the success of our network, and we are incredibly grateful for their years of service.

We look forward to the continued growth and impact of CanVECTOR under the leadership of our new and returning SSC members. Lastly, we would like to thank Sudeep Shivakumar for serving as the Elections Chair in this election cycle.
