MONTREAL, February 12, 2024 - Following the recent departure of Drs. Lori-Ann Linkins and Alfonso Iorio as Co-Leads of the CanVECTOR Knowledge Translation Platform and a subsequent open nomination process, the Network is pleased to welcome Zachary Liederman, MD, MScCH - University of Toronto, and Siraj Mithoowani, MD, MSc - McMaster University, as the new Knowledge Translation Platform Co-Chairs.

Dr. Liederman is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Toronto and Hematologist at the University Health Network. As a past CanVECTOR fellow, Dr. Liederman worked with the KT platform to publish Clot+ articles under the guidance of experienced investigators. Motivated by the impact of the work, he participated in additional knowledge translation training including an intensive course in Plain Language for Patient/ Public Health Communication as well as knowledge translation focused classes during a Masters in Medical Education and at the ASH Medical Educator Institute. He aims to to further integrate network trainees into the knowledge translation process.

Dr. Siraj Mithoowani is Assistant Professor of Medicine at McMaster University and Hematologist at St. Josephs Healthcare Hamilton.  Dr. Mithoowani aspires to apply his experience in knowledge translation / research in health professions education to build on the platform’s strengths (including CLOT+ and Evidence Summaries) while working collaboratively with network members, leaders, and staff to develop new initiatives that are consistent with the organization’s priorities and best practices in medical education.

Drs. Liederman and Mithoowani have been actively engaged in leadership roles within the network, and we are thrilled to have them on board!
