CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Fall 2022 Research Start-Up Awards Competition

MONTREAL, October 24, 2022 – CanVECTOR is now accepting applications for the Network's Fall 2022 Research Start-up Awards Competition with a submission deadline of November 25, 2022. The purpose of the Research Start-up Awards is to help trainees achieve their research objectives through start-up operating funds for a research project or preliminary / pilot work to strengthen their research, including services, materials, or supplies.

This funding is not intended to provide salary support for trainees and the requested funds must not overlap with funding that’s available from other sources. Research start-up funding is not intended to provide support for travel relating to any academic experiences (e.g. presentation of research work at a scientific conference).

Quick Facts

  • Amount: Up to $2,500 (CAD)
  • Eligible applicants must be trainees (medical student, resident, graduate student, fellow) conducting research under the supervision of a CanVECTOR member. Applicants are encouraged to apply for membership when applying. Priority will be given to applicants who have not received CanVECTOR funding.
  • The deadline to submit applications is Friday, November 25th, 2022.

Competition Forms

Applicants must submit a completed application form alongside a summary of the research project (maximum 1-page excluding references; references may be included on a separate page).

Complete application packages must reach the CanVECTOR Training Office (via email: training@canvector.ca) by 11:59PM ET on Friday, November 25th, 2022.
