CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Fall 2020 Research Training Awards Competition

MONTREAL, September 9, 2020 – Today, CanVECTOR launched its Fall 2020 Research Training Awards Competitions with a submission deadline of November 6, 2020. The purpose of the Research Training Awards is to provide financial support for highly qualified, promising graduate students or fellows to allow them to pursue research training in thromboembolism at a Canadian Centre.

CanVECTOR offers two types of research training awards to the medical and science community: Research Fellowships, geared towards MDs aiming to become clinician scientists and investigators in venous thromboembolism (VTE), and Graduate Studentships, geared towards graduate students enrolled in MSc and PhD programs with an interest in conducting VTE-focused research developing VTE-related methodology expertise.

New (October 2, 2020) - Please note that no Studentships will be awarded in the Fall 2020 Competition; the Studentship Awards Competition is postponed to Spring 2021. Please see full details here.

In the past year, the network has awarded three Fellowship Awards and five Studentship Awards in two competitions. For more information on the awards or past winners, visit the Training, Mentoring, & Early Career Development page of the website.

Quick Facts

  • Research Fellowships winners may receive a maximum of $50,000 (CAD).
  • The deadline to submit applications is Friday, November 6, 2020.
