Leslie Skeith, MD, MHPE, FRCPC

Dr. Skeith is a hematologist and associate professor at the University of Calgary in the Division of Hematology & Hematological Malignancies, Department of Medicine, and is cross-appointed to the Departments of Oncology and Community Health Sciences. She is also an affiliate investigator with the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute.

Dr. Skeith is interested in medical education in thrombosis, and has completed a Masters of Health Professions Education at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her masters thesis project evaluated acceptability of clinical practice variation among experts in thrombosis medicine.

Dr. Skeith also conducts clinical research in the area of women's health and thrombosis, which includes a CIHR and INVENT-funded pilot trial, to determine the feasibility of a large randomized controlled trial of low dose aspirin to prevent VTE in postpartum women (PARTUM: Postpartum Aspirin to Reduce Thromboembolism Undue Morbidity).
