Scientific Steering Committee

CanVECTOR is overseen by its Scientific Steering Committee (SSC). It is co-chaired by the Network Directors. The SSC includes the science and foundational CanVECTOR platform co-leads, 2 patient partners, Chairs of the Clinical Investigators' Group and Trainee Council, and the SSC is supported by the CanVECTOR administration.

The SSC's responsibilities are:

  1. Ensure that the Network is appropriately pursuing its research, training, knowledge translation, and patient engagement objectives;

  2. Ensure the Network functions according to its overall strategic plan and objectives, and oversee that these are reviewed and updated on a regular basis;

  3. Provide overall guidance on Network operations and management;

  4. Approve of new members;

  5. Plan collaborative and cross-fertilizing activities such as workshops, interdisciplinary training, platform sharing, and discussion of new projects that would involve collaboration amongst multiple teams.
